ASTANA — Kazakhstani schools will have a new subject — religious studies — starting in 2011, zakon.kz reported January 5, quoting Metropolitan Aleksandr, head of the Kazakh Russian Orthodox church.
Instructors will teach the course in the second half of the school year, he said, adding that religious leaders had reviewed the textbook and had made suggestions to the Education Ministry.
