Tahrir men protest anti-Islam film
Some members of banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir on Monday demonstrated near US Embassy in the capital’s Baridhara area to protest screening an anti-Islamic film and publishing cartoon demeaning Prophet Muhammad (SM).
Police arrested one of them while they were marching towards the embassy.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of police Nizamul Haque told The Daily Star that around 60 Tahrir men brought out a sudden procession around the noon to protest the film and cartoon.
On information, police rushed to the spot and charged truncheon to disperse the procession.
